Finished the blanket...what a process! I'm not sure if my method is the best. I bind it before I cut the furrows, which is scarry when you pierce the hole for the chenille cutter...there's always the danger of cutting a hole in the bottom fabric. Ripping up the rows before the binding would be much safer and easier, but the binding application might be troublesome....I'll try it with a smaller project.
