miles to go...

It was another of those "iffy" evenings. The clouds were threatening...but a week had passed since last stepping into my walking shoes and I needed to connect with my "inner nature girl".
The spirea and johnny jump-ups were glowing in the light of the setting sun.

Mom told me once that this yellow flower was mustard...I think she was right...wild mustard.

I ♥ seeing and hearing water running over rocks...brings me right back "down to the creek" of my childhood.
The geese were in usual form...honking their way back to the golf course.

He's saying to the dandelions, "what am I doing here?"

I had no idea they cost this much!

Often, there are kids under here as I pass by...luckily, this time I had my camera.

Home again...wishing I could capture the entire essence of these lilacs.

Having this poem in my mind this time of year is about as weird as seeing that jack-o-lantern on the sidewalk tonight...go figure.

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village, though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there's some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep
