chapter two

Standing out in the freezing cold during our final farewell, brought to mind the opening scene from 'Dr Zhivago'

The Song of Farewell has got to be the sweetest goodbye ever...

May angels lead you into paradise;
may the martyrs receive you at your coming
and lead you to the holy city of Jerusalem.
May a choir of angels receive you,
and with Lazarus, who once was poor, may you have eternal rest.

When the "Widow Susan" sat down at the luncheon after burying the guy she had been with for so many years, she looked around and thought, "Where's Sam?"

Where indeed?
C.S Lewis deals with that subject quite nicely in this book.
