consider this

My new sewing machine is ready and waiting for its first project. While browsing Etsy, I came upon this little shop. I love this style. Now to find a pattern...I wonder what "high- twisted cotton" is.

Everything about this painting is appealing, especially the title... "Considering Vermeer"

Casino Royale has been showing up on the Dish lineup lately. We refused to see the original back in 1967.... How dare they spoof James Bond! We did go to the remake a few years ago and loved it. It had the usual beautiful scenery, gorgeous women and nefarious plot. I gave it a 10 and he an 8...only "Star Wars" get 10s from him. He had a general idea where Montenegro was... I had none, so I looked it up when we got home ....who knew?

50 cents a cap!

The amazing thing about today's gospel is that Father breezed through names in the genealogy of Jesus as though they were his own kin.
This hat kinda reminds me of this book. I don't even remember the moral of the story, but the author, Esphyr Slobodkina's interesting story is like a scene from the movie 'Reds'...actually my hat model kind of resembles Louise.
Speaking of genealogy....

I crack him up.

shaken not stirred

We saw the new James Bond movie this afternoon...we've been fans since we were kids. I must admit the hook has always been the popcorn...but when you go to a Bond movie you can count on great scenery and good- looking people...the plot is usually "comme ci, comme ça".
This James has a perpetual pout, otherwise a likable fellow. Dominic was rather nonthreatening as the villain...my all time favorite is Maximilian Largo in "Never Say Never".
Camille was gorgeous as the new "Bond girl", replacing Fatima , my former favorite. M seemed uncharacteristically "flappable"...but she is getting long in the tooth. Poor Fields was very cute but made a quick exit.
I am defiantly a girl watcher.
On the way home we dined at Lighthouse on Homestead on broiled whitefish.

The bik-a-thon was well underway by the time I came downstairs at 8:00 Saturday morning.
I had one of those sleepless nights that seem to run in the family.
I finally gave up ratting around at about 2:30 am, turned on the TV and found a movie that I hadn't seen...I thought.
It wasn't at all familiar until I saw the statue of 'Lady Liberty' in the suitcase...long story. The female lead was fun to watch with her off-beat personality...wonder what ever happened to her. By 4am I couldn't keep my eyes open another minute, and was pretty confident ol' Harrison would rescue his wife from the nasty bad guys, so I sacrificed the end of the movie for some Zzz.

I kinda overextended myself on Saturday and missed out on an agate hunt with Matt...but baby felt sorry for me and decided to be extra sweet and adorable all afternoon.

I was exhausted by dark and went to bed at a decent hour...10:30!
Good thing...because today was grueling!
Aimee, Nancy and I hiked Chester Creek...no easy task...for me anyway. They picked the hottest day of the coldest summer we've had in years! I don't do hot...Aimee loves it...I stayed for supper to gain back my strength for the drive home. I resolved to get back into shape before the next trek.
One of the many inclines.

Wait for me!

Refreshing...

speaking of refreshing...

I guess a hot day isn't all bad.
